CCA Announces 2022 Annual Achievement Award Winners

Portland, OR - Competitive Carriers Association (CCA) today announced the winners of its 2022 Annual Achievement Awards that recognize industry and community contributions from individuals, carriers, and associates in the wireless industry. Award categories this year include Outstanding Achievement, Neko Hamlett Associate Member of the Year, and Outstanding Service.


“Our members continue to innovate and share the latest wireless products and solutions showing true commitment to their customers,” said Steven K. Berry, president and CEO of CCA. “Congratulations to this year’s winners who continue to drive the future of the wireless industry and support their communities – and beyond – with programs and services that bring connectivity to regions all across the country.”


This year’s 2022 Annual Achievement Award winners include:



Outstanding Achievement Award


Joe Varghese, UScellular - Joe has been an active member of the CCA Events Committee for many years and has significantly enhanced UScellular’s involvement in the events, particularly through recruiting speakers and developing content vital to carriers. His positive attitude and enthusiasm for the CCA community make him well-deserving of this award.



Neko Hamlett Associate Member of the Year Award


Husam Shukhaidem, Nokia - Husam is a long-time member of the CCA Events Committee and has worked diligently to secure industry executive participation not only from his own company, but from several carriers as well. He is a reliable team player with a good sense of humor and an active member of the CCA community.



Outstanding Service Award – Carrier


GTA (Teleguam Holdings LLC) - GTA offers a number of programs through its “GTA Gives” philanthropic initiatives.

The “Empowered by GTA” program is centered around using leading-edge technology and resources to transform the island community by providing in-kind vital telecommunications support to essential groups and local non-profit organizations. Their GTA Youth Leader Program also provides scholarships and phones to deserving students.



Outstanding Service Award – Associate


IDI Billing Solutions - IDI Billing Solutions gifted $162,000 to the Rochester Institute of Technology to provide new scholarships, emergency support funds, and programmatic opportunities for K-12. The gift provides funding to expand the Men of Color, Honor, and Ambition and the Women of Color, Honor, and Ambition programs to accommodate additional students.


Volodymyr "V" Chornodolsky, IDI Billing Solutions - V and his family have worked to support Ukraine by providing hundreds of pounds of baby food, medicine, and other supplies and raised $25,000 for United Help Ukraine. He has also helped local families with relocation.
